Hastings, Work Log Oct 22-28

Date: October 28, 2011

Subject: Weekly Work Log

This work log summarizes the progress that I have made since October 22nd towards completing the feasibility report.

We had a productive team meeting on Wednesday October 26th. Prior to this meeting, Ali and I had reformatted the Organization Plan Document including the Task Schedule. In addition, I updated the Gantt Chart to reflect the changes in the Task Schedule. During the meeting, we discussed potential location options, ultimately deciding on the location of an old Pasta House (now closed) in the Central West End, off of Euclid Avenue. We compared neighborhood, specific building, and price options, deciding on the aforementioned as a final location.

After deciding on a final location we discussed inventory, which will be necessary when composing the Total Investment document, which will be Allie’s, Ali’s and my job before our next team meeting. We decided to use a layered collaboration method. We need to determine how many units we want to order, quantity will determine price and volume discounts. Additionally, the total investment should include cost of rent and renovation, which would include prices for changing lighting fixtures and making sure the kitchen and bar are stocked with the necessary equipment and supplies.

Next group meeting before class on Wednesday, November 2nd. The group will assign individual assignments for marketing structure outline and begin writing individual sections. Drafts for the Total Investment document and the Marketing Structure should be completed by the time of the Midterm Report.
